Born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Fasua in Lagos in 1971, Tope spent his first 11 years in Lagos before he moved with his family to Akure, Ondo State. After his secondary school education at Army Comprehensive High School, Tope obtained a Bachelor degree in economics at the old Ondo State University in 1991. Tope Fasua obtained a Master Degree with Distinction in Financial Markets and Derivatives at the London Metropolitan University.
Tope Fasua is an Economist by training, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a member of the Institute of Directors (MIoD). He worked in the Nigerian Banking Industry where he worked hard and was promoted to the position of Regional Director of a local bank before he left banking in 2005. Tope was appointed as a committee member of the Financial Sector Strategy (FSS2020) –Money and Capital Market sub-committee by the Central Bank of Nigeria in the year 2006.
Tope Fasua is the CEO of Global Analytics Consulting Ltd, a Management and Financial Consulting Company. Also, he is a columnist on both local and international publishing outlets. Tope contributes monthly to an Abu-Dhabi-Based Capital Business Magazine and Inside Watch Africa Magazine among others. He is a Secretary, Board of Economists of Daily Trust, an Abuja-based media company. Apart from this, he is a non-Executive Director at XDS Credit Bureau and the President, Institute for Service Excellence and Good Governance (Nigeria) and has consulted for UN and EU projects.
Tope has written six books chiefly on the Nigeria question with emphasis on providing practical solutions to Nigeria’s socio-economical problems. Tope has also been on executive programs on Leadership and Strategy, at Harvard Business School and London Business School, among other trainings, seminars and workshops that he has attended and delivered. He recently commenced a Doctoral program with Walden University, US, on Public Policy and Administration (Public Management and Leadership).
He is the National Chairman of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP)
